⚔️ McShiharo Legacy — Did You Know?
No, it is not Sony changing the script. No, it is not a plot hole. There is a precise, lore-accurate reason why the Sisters of Fate got Kratos’s death wrong and once you understand it, that scene hits on an entirely different level.
The Setup
Kratos travels to the Sisters of Fate to discover Atreus’s location, since we all know he was out taking a little trip with Odin in Asgard. As soon as they enter the lair, the Sisters start anticipating every step and every word, making small predictions and creating one of the most epic scenes in the game. And then they predict Kratos’s death. And they are wrong.
How Their Power Actually Works
This is the detail most people miss. Unlike the absolute Fates of Greek mythology, the Sisters’ predictions in God of War are built on something completely different.
Greek Mythology: The Fates decree what will happen. Their word is the final word of the universe, unchangeable by gods or mortals alike.
God of War (Norse): The Sisters’ predictions are calculated projections built on reading each person’s behavioral patterns. They see what you are most likely to do not what you must do.
“They didn’t misread the future. They misread the man, because the man had changed.”
The Change That Broke the Prediction
The Sisters built their prediction on the Kratos they knew defined by uncontrolled rage, reckless sacrifice, and a willingness to throw his own life away. That Kratos would have died exactly as they foresaw.
But across the events of God of War Ragnarök, Kratos had changed. He had become a father. He had learned restraint. His behavioral pattern had shifted so fundamentally that the Sisters’ model no longer matched reality. The prediction wasn’t wrong it was simply outdated.

💬 McShiharo Take
Santa Monica Studio didn’t just dodge a plot hole they turned it into a testament to Kratos’s character growth. The Sisters of Fate are not infallible. They are exceptionally good readers of who a person is. But Kratos became someone they had never seen before. The prediction failed because the man outgrew the pattern it was built on. Did this change how you see that scene?
